The puzzle is slowing coming together. As God allows us to remember and celebrate His Appointed times we get a glimpse into the mind of God. If you are looking to celebrate with God it is important that we seek to be at His holy events.

This is a seven-day celebration during the first month of the year, based on how God counts years (Exodus 12:2). The first and seventh days of Unleavened Bread are High Holy's which means no ordinary work. Although the 1st and 7th Days of Unleavened Bread are days we are to rest they are never referred to as Shabbat. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is often referred to as Passover and 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc., days of Passover, it is not Passover. God did not pass over the Egyptians for 7 days. During this feast, we are commanded to not possess or consume chametz (yeast). Even a little is too much! (1 Corinthians 5:6-8) We cannot celebrate the Feast with any yeast. It is not to be found any in our possessions or in the Land of Israel. (Leviticus 23:6-8, Numbers 28: 17-25, Deuteronomy 16:1-4-8) The penalty of having chametz is the person is completely cutoff from the promise of life and the blessings of God. The Feast of Unleavened Bread is the first of three Pilgrim Festivals.
Yeshua was executed on the Passover! He is the Lamb of God that was slain! He was in the ground when Unleavened Bread began and was there until God's appointed time, First Fruits!
This day marks the beginning of the grain harvest with barley being cut and brought to the Temple (that we currently do not have) for the wave offering. Leviticus 23:9-14. It is not a set date like the 16th day of the first month, however, it is a set day. It was always the day after the Shabbat during Unleavened Bread. Some translations read the day after the rest day, they do this to back Jewish tradition. Tradition teaches First Fruits is the 16th day of the 1st month, the day after the 1st day of Unleavened Bread. Yet in Hebrew, it reads the day after the Shabbat, השבת, Hashabbat. Reading it in Hebrew it is clear. First Fruits is always on the first day of the week according to Torah because it is the day after the Shabbat or the 1st day of the week.
Yeshua rose from the dead on the 1st day of the week, the day after Shabbat, on First Fruit.
Why?
Because he is the First Fruit.
First Fruits is also the day we are begin counting to the 50th day when we are to celebrate once again! Leviticus 23:15-16
On the day after the 7th Shabbat, 50th day, we are commanded to rejoice in the God's presence. This day is call Shavuot/Feast of Weeks/Pentecost (Acts 2). Like First Fruits, Shavuot is not given a set date. Shavuot is given a specific day, the day after the 7th Shabbat from First Fruits. Shavuot and First Fruits are always on the first day of the week. Shavuot is the second of three Pilgrim Festivals.
Tradition has Shavuot as the anniversary of God speaking from Mount Sinai, but that is tradition, not Torah. All we know is it does meet the time frame, since it was in the 3rd Month that God spoke to all Israel (see Exodus 19:1) and it makes sense the giving of Torah would be a day to remember and rejoice. Having said that, I must go back to Torah, Torah does not give the date for that awesome event. So we do not know.
What we do know is, this is the day the Rauch (Spirit) was give to the masses after the resurrection of Yeshua in Acts 2. The original followers of Jesus were keeping the Feast of Yah along with all the other Commandments of God and GOD marked this 50th day with His Spirit. Leviticus 23:15-21, Numbers 16:9-12, Joel 2:28-29, Ezekiel 11:19-20, Jeremiah 31:31-34.

Chanukah/Hanukkah is a Jewish winter celebration, "And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter." John 10:22 KJV. Chanukah is the Feast of Dedication. It is a 8 day celebration also known as the Feast of Lights. In 2 BCE a small group of devout Jews took on one of the most powerful forces of the time, the Syrian-Greek military. The Greeks were forcing the Israeli people to embrace pagan thoughts and ways. With the help of God a few faithful Jewish people fought to maintain the way of life God instructed Moses and won. It was a difficult fight and finally the Temple was purged and dedicated back to the God of Heaven and Earth.
God gave Israel the victory.
Now Chanukah is a yearly celebration to remember the rededication of the Holy Temple in 2 BCE. It is called the Feast of Lights because of a letter addition to the events that God allowed a one day supply of oil to last 8 days. However, this event is not found in the Book of Maccabee's. The miracle is that a hand full of people defeated the Syrian army.
